About you
Exciting opportunities are available for qualified General Medicine Physicians (Senior Medical Officers) who want to make a positive impact while working in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and supportive team. We are looking for General Medicine Physicians who are passionate about delivering quality care to our patients.
General Medicine in New Zealand focuses on the comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of adult patients with complex or multisystem conditions. It plays a central role in hospital care across all district sizes—from large tertiary centres to regional and rural hospitals. General Physicians often provide broad-based internal medicine care and work closely with subspecialists or practise in dual roles, managing both general medical admissions and care within a particular subspecialty.
Positions are available across New Zealand with immediate start dates, or you can speak with our recruitment team about your plans to move to New Zealand.
To work as a General Medicine Physician (Senior Medical Officer) in New Zealand, you must become registered to practice with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Practitioners must meet competency standards and hold Annual Practising Certificates (APCs) to work safely and effectively. More information can be found on our careers site; search for 'General Medicine’.
