Trainee Bulk Analyst ( Laboratory Technician)
Trainee Laboratory Technician – South East

Riverside are looking for a trainee laboratory technician specialising in asbestos analysis.

This is a great opportunity to become a qualified asbestos bulk analyst. The successful candidate will be provided training and experience through a staged development programme leading to formal BOHS / RSPH qualifications and a role within the Asbestos Laboratory of our South East Head Office.

Asbestos bulk analysts locate and identify different types of asbestos within bulk building materials, and identify and quantify asbestos within samples of soil. Analysis is undertaken via optical microscopy.

The role is office based and is predominantly undertaken during office hours, however work can occur out of hours.

This opportunity will enable the candidate to develop a long term career in the asbestos industry.

Whilst training you will be required to help with general office duties including creating simple drawings in AutoCad approx. 2 days a week.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

· Full UK driving licence

· Enhanced DBS check (completed during induction stage)

· Ability to analyse technical data and write technical reports

· Excellent work ethic

· Ability to work overtime

· Friendly and professional conduct at all times

· Ability to develop career through technical exams and audits

· GCSE A-C or equivalent in Maths, English and Science

MAIN DUTIES

· Assisting authorised staff

· Commitment to training programme

· Learning approved methods and current legislation

· Using desktop PCs to record findings

· Working to progress through training programme to become an authorised bulk analyst

· Drawings in AutoCad
