Full job description

A practical role with variety, responsibility and the opportunity to learn engineering.

Eurospark Ltd is a small, established engineering business looking for a practical, reliable and self-motivated person to join our team.

This is a genuinely varied, hands-on position. You will take responsibility for keeping our grounds, buildings and workshop well maintained, while also having the opportunity to learn and support our specialist engineering operation.

If you are the sort of person who sees something that needs doing and gets on with it, rather than waiting to be told, this could be a great opportunity.

Duties / Key Responsibilities

The role will change with the seasons and the needs of the business.

During the spring and summer months, a significant part of your time will be spent looking after our grounds and premises. This will include:

  • Grass cutting, hedge trimming and general grounds maintenance.
  • Keeping external areas, car parks and access areas clean and presentable.
  • General gardening and seasonal maintenance.
  • Basic repairs, DIY and upkeep of our buildings.
  • Maintaining workshop, storage and office areas.
  • Looking after tools, equipment and general site facilities.
  • Identifying problems and dealing with them where you can.

When the weather makes outdoor work less practical, particularly during the winter months, the role will naturally move towards supporting our engineering and workshop activities.

You'll have the opportunity to assist with:

  • Preparing and maintaining EDM machinery.
  • Mechanical and Electrical servicing and workshop tasks.
  • Preparing machines for delivery.
  • Loading and unloading equipment.
  • Machine installations and removals.
  • Deliveries and collections.
  • General engineering support.

No engineering experience? That's fine. You don't need to be an engineer to apply.

We will provide the training you need. What we're really looking for is someone who is practical, mechanically minded, willing to learn and takes pride in doing a good job.

If engineering interests you, there is genuine scope to develop your skills and responsibilities over time. You could start by helping in the workshop and, with training and experience, progress into areas such as EDM machinery maintenance, servicing, installations and wider engineering support.

For the right person, this is much more than simply a maintenance job — it could be an opportunity to learn a specialist trade and build a long-term career within a small engineering business.

What we're looking for

You might come from a background in grounds maintenance, gardening, property maintenance, facilities, building work, mechanical work, agriculture, workshop work or another practical occupation.

More important than your exact background is your approach to work.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
  • Can organise their own workload and use their initiative.
  • Takes pride in keeping their working environment in good condition.
  • Has a practical, common-sense approach to solving problems.
  • Is confident using basic hand and power tools.
  • Is happy working outdoors and in a workshop environment.
  • Is reliable, flexible and willing to help wherever needed.
  • Wants to learn and develop new skills.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

An interest in mechanical or electrical engineering advantageous, but full training will be provided.

Why join Eurospark?

As a small business, you'll have a level of responsibility and variety that you simply don't get in a large organisation.

You won't be doing the same thing every day. You'll have the freedom to organise your work, make a visible difference to the site and, if engineering interests you, learn directly from experienced engineers and develop specialist skills.

We offer:

  • Training and support.
  • A varied, hands-on role.
  • The opportunity to develop into engineering work.
  • Training on specialist EDM machinery.
  • A friendly, practical working environment.
  • Real responsibility and independence.
  • The opportunity to develop your role as your skills grow.
  • 22 days' holiday + Bank Holidays.

About Eurospark

Eurospark Ltd is an established specialist supplier of EDM machinery, providing machines, installation, servicing and technical support to customers throughout the UK.

We are a small team, which means we value people who are dependable, capable and take ownership of what they do.

If you're practical, enjoy variety and would like the opportunity to develop new skills within an engineering business, we'd like to hear from you.
