Full job description

We are currently looking for a qualified Domestic Heating Engineer who has experience in carrying out heating system replacements, gas, oil and heat pump installations.

This applicant must be able to confidently install systems that meets MCS/GasSafe/Oftec and building regulation standards. This role will require the candidate to carry out installations across Cornwall, dealing with suppliers, materials and customers. You will need to be able to work as part of a team and individually on your own.

As a well-established plumbing and heating firm, particularly in renewable heating system installations we have a constant flow of customers looking to upgrade their home from gas and oil to air source. This is a core service within the business, and you will be joining the domestic installation team here at Simon Annear’s.

Typical day to day jobs that this role will involve

· Meeting customers on site to discuss the works that we will be carrying out

· Draining down the existing heating system and removing redundant heating such as boiler’s, hot water cylinders, radiators, and pipework

· Installing the new high gain hot water cylinder

· Running primary pipework between the hot water cylinder and the heat pump location

· Installing the air source heat pump

· Replacing old radiators with new and adapting pipework where necessary

· In some cases, replacing exiting distribution pipework with new copper pipework

· Taking delivery of any equipment such as the heat pump, hot water cylinder and radiators

· Keeping in contact with our office to update on progress, schedule and advising when you will need one of our electricians to attend.

· Ordering and collecting materials from plumbing and heating merchants.

The required experience for this role

Minimum experience of 5 years in domestic heating system installations and a proven track record of being able to demonstrate a high level of customer service whilst treating customers properties with respect.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

· Current GAS SAFE qualifications (through an Accredited Certification Scheme), including, CCN1, CEN1,WAT1 or CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1

· G3 Unvented Hot Water, Commission and Install (preferred)

· General IT skills, the candidate will be required to complete documentation related to work activities, which may include the use of an iPad / Computer

· Clean driving license

Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience

· Experience with air source and / or ground source heating systems

· 17/18th Edition or Part P electrical qualifications and will be a distinct advantage

· OFTEC (OFT10-101, OFT10-105E and OFT10-600a

· Experience with Solar Thermal and twin coil hot water cylinders
