Full job description
We are looking for a dedicated person with suitable experience of being a general handyperson with property and ground maintenance experience. to join our Property Team. We have a total of 16 properties and an office building which all need regular maintenance of outside spaces. You will travel between properties, carrying out general maintenance to both buildings and gardens to ensure we are providing the best possible accommodation for our clients.
Your duties will include:
· Carrying out garden maintenance (mowing, weeding) and repairs as required across various trades to all areas of Arc properties.
· Carrying out the disposal of any waste materials not suitable for collection by our normal waste carrier.
· Carrying out any necessary collections and deliveries on behalf of the charity, including donations from members of the public and external organisations.
· Sourcing and collecting materials from suppliers as required
· Working on refurbishment projects with other team members and liaise with suppliers and outside contractors.
· Working with the Property Team, effectively as a team member, and develop and maintain positive working relationships with all clients, Arc staff and external third parties.
· Arranging and carrying out the conveyance and placement of furniture, domestic appliances, fixtures, and fittings to Arc properties as instructed, within agreed timeframes.
· Assisting with the relocation of clients and their possessions.
· Ensuring client, staff, and visitor safety.
You will have:
Suitable experience of being a general handyperson with property and ground maintenance experience.
· Experience of building positive, effective relationships with internal/external colleagues
· Ability to source and collect required materials from suppliers.
· A strong commitment to Arc’s Purpose and Key Values
· Good standard of literacy, numeracy, IT, organising and planning
· High level of ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
· Ability to work under pressure with a calm approach to emergency situations.
· Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 points.
· Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations on a daily basis.
