About this Role
37 hours week, 7am to 3pm, Monday to Friday with occasional weekends and evenings.
‘A well-presented and safe school environment plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and productive learning experience. By maintaining high standards for our school premises, we create an atmosphere where learning can thrive, behaviour improves, and students are empowered to reach their full potential’
Our school offers character and challenge in equal measure – we are part 1960 original building and part 2002 new build! Sections of a working week are spent ensuring we remain compliant, completing desk-based checks and paperwork, however the role also offers the opportunity to be hands on too, keeping the school both safe and well presented at all times.
During the daytime, our Premises Team work hard to present the school in the best way possible. Of an evening and weekend, we host a considerable number of lettings, delivering a healthy revenue stream for the school. Although we do not have any immediate projects planned, we don’t stand still. As a school we have a commitment to sustainability and recent initiatives include installation of solar panels and a whole school switch to LED lighting.
Our Team
The Premises Manager role reports into our Business Manager and you will be directly responsible for a team of 3 Premises Assistants, as well as our Lettings Officer. As you would expect, our Premises Team are a close-knit bunch who constantly display a can-do mindset. They do not walk past problems and instead, as much as possible, get things sorted correctly and first time.
You will also be welcomed into a wider Premises / Site Team who operate across Red Kite Learning Trust. Our Trust consists of 5 secondary schools across Harrogate and Leeds and our Premises Teams collaborate as a group when needed, as well as supporting each other individually to ensure we are delivering the very best for our customers.
About Our School
Our core values of Respect, Integrity and Determination aren’t just words; they shape everything we do. Here’s what you can expect when you join us:
- Generous pension scheme with an employer rate of 19% plus a wide range of benefits, discounts, and rewards. Details of our benefits, discounts, and rewards can be found HERE.
- Flexible working options – We understand the importance of work-life balance and are happy to explore arrangements that suit both you and the role.
- A genuinely supportive environment – We prioritise respect, equality, diversity, and well-being, making this a place where you can thrive.
- A strong sense of community – Collaboration and generosity are at the heart of our culture.
- Ongoing professional development – We invest in your growth at every stage of your career, helping you reach your full potential.
About You
To be a good fit for this role, you will:
- Have prior experience in a premises manager / maintenance environment.
- Have experience of supporting general trade tasks and skilled trade workers.
- Be proactive, solution focussed and have the care and attention to ensure our school is fully compliant
- Possess excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Share our commitment to providing a safe, efficient, and well-maintained learning environment for all our students, staff, and visitors.
