About Us

At Rooms To Grow, we help our customers make the most of their outdoor spaces. We're looking for a skilled and motivated Groundworker/Landscaper to join our growing team.

The Role

As a Groundworker/Landscaper, you'll play a key part in preparing and finishing the groundworks that underpin our projects. Your day-to-day work will be varied and physically active, covering everything from installing ground screws and drainage systems to laying cable ducting through patios and pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation of ground screws to support garden buildings, decking, and other structures
  • Excavation and installation of drainage systems, including soakaways, channel drains, and pumping stations
  • Laying cable ducting through patios, paths, and landscaped areas for electrical services
  • Preparing and levelling ground for bases, patios, and pathways
  • General landscaping duties including turf laying, edging, and site clearance
  • Working to plans and specifications while maintaining high standards of finish
  • Ensuring all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations
  • Keeping tools, equipment, and the company van clean, organised, and in good working order

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience in groundworks, landscaping, or civil works (essential)
  • Demonstrable experience with excavation, drainage installation, and ground preparation on domestic or commercial sites
  • Confident using a range of hand and power tools including mini diggers, plate compactors, concrete saws, and laser levels
  • Practical knowledge of falls, levels, and gradient calculations for drainage and paving
  • Experience working with or connecting to existing drainage systems, including pumping stations
  • Must be registered under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Ability to work independently on-site with minimal supervision, as well as part of a wider team
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a high standard of finish on every job
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills

Desirable (But Not Essential)

  • CSCS card or equivalent
  • Experience with ground screw installation
  • First Aid certification
  • Previous experience working on domestic garden or outdoor building projects
