About the Team/Service/ Location
The Critical Care Department at Waikato Hospital is the tertiary provider for Intensive Care to the Midland region of New Zealand. The Waikato Critical Care currently operates within a 34 bed footprint, and has an annual workload of approx. 1500 ICU and 3000 HDU level patients each year. Covering all major tertiary services including a trauma centre and the second largest cardiac surgical centre in New Zealand, we also provide neurosurgical and regional burns care in addition to a busy general and paediatric intensive care. We now prepare to expand Intensive Care and seek to further develop academic and research interests, in addition to further advance training of junior and senior medical staff.
