Full job description

Amphiform (amphiform.com) is building next-gen energy materials for AI data centres, defence and space: light, abundant and powerful. We achieve that by creating a new type of matter: hybrid materials, built atomic layer by atomic layer, where every atom has a pre-programmed purpose.

We just closed a $5.5M pre-seed led by General Catalyst and Main Object, with Thomas Wolf (Hugging Face), Charlie Songhurst, and others. An Oxford physics professor who built the atomic manufacturing equipment we’re using is joining the team.

About the role

You’ll work directly with the founder as we build the lab out and scale from research to first commercial systems. The role is very broad – operations, fundraising, hiring, partnerships

What we’re looking for

  • Background is open. Ex-consulting or banking, former founder, or early operator at a deeptech startup are all natural fits.
  • Comfort working alongside scientists and engineers. Science background not required.
  • Ability to work in person in London or Oxford.

Nice to have

  • Direct experience running a venture fundraise.
  • Operational experience scaling a team through 10 → 30 people.
  • Some technical or scientific exposure, even if informal.

Pay: From £100,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Employee stock ownership plan

Work Location: In person
