Benefits

· More time to focus on medicine and patient care

· Supported by established practice systems and teams

· Clinical judgement is respected, within agreed practice arrangements and patient needs

· Support from the Ochre Health network, including administration, technology, marketing, patient flow and clinical leadership

· Continuity of care and meaningful patient and community relationships

· Registration, visa and relocation coordination for eligible UK-trained GPs

Introduction - Rediscover the medicine you trained to practise

Relocating to Australia can be more than a change of scenery. It can be an opportunity to focus on clinical care, build longer-term patient relationships and create a working life that leaves room for the people and interests that matter outside medicine.

At Ochre Health, you focus on medicine and patients, with the support of a broader network behind you. Established practice teams and systems help reduce the operational burden so you can spend more of your working day caring for patients.

Dr Kathryn Mulligan, a GP from Sunderland, described the contrast after moving to Queensland as 'day and night'. She found more opportunity to follow patients over time, become part of the community and finish work with time for her family. In her words, it is 'the medicine you wish you could practise.'

Eligible UK-trained GPs may apply directly to the Medical Board of Australia for specialist registration through the Expedited Specialist pathway. Current eligibility includes MRCGP plus CCT awarded under an RCGP curriculum from August 2007, subject to all other requirements. The pathway requires six months of supervised practice in Australia, cultural safety education, orientation and workplace-based assessments. Training completed through the CCT Combined Training Pathway is currently not eligible. Eligibility is assessed individually by Ahpra and the Medical Board.

Ochre’s recruitment team can help eligible candidates compare genuine vacancies, prepare registration documentation, coordinate with appropriately authorised immigration professionals, plan the move, and begin with induction, approved supervision and ongoing support [CONFIRM the exact service scope and costs].

In the role you will

· provide comprehensive, patient-centred general practice care,

· build continuity of care and long-term patient relationships,

· exercise clinical judgement within Australian professional standards, registration conditions and agreed practice arrangements,

· work with established nursing, administration and practice-management support, and

· develop a clinical interest where it aligns with local patient need, facilities and credentialing.

Why Ochre Health?

· Founded by doctors, with a history that began in rural Australia

· A national network of 70+ medical centres across Australia

· More than 550 doctors supported nationwide

· A dedicated recruitment team guiding you from first conversation through role selection, registration preparation, arrival, induction and ongoing support

· Coordination with appropriately authorised external immigration professionals

· Evidence from UK GPs who have made the move with Ochre, including Dr Kathryn Mulligan’s experience of patient continuity, community connection, family time and having “someone to hold your hand” through a complicated process.

· Operational support across administration, technology, marketing, patient flow, nursing and clinical leadership.

· Clinical judgement is respected, with the clarity and consistency needed to support patients and the community.

Career development - Your experience comes with you - and your career can continue to grow

Australia offers more than general practice. After completing the pathway the Ochre networks have many more opportunities available across:

· Urgent Care Clinics

· Telehealth

· Locum placements

· GP supervision

· Leadership and management

· Special interests

Location and lifestyle - The lifestyle you didn't think was possible

Forget the myths. Moving to Australia doesn't mean working in the middle of nowhere. Opportunities exist in vibrant regional centres, coastal communities and many other sought-after locations.

Australian general practice also offers greater autonomy, less administration with the support of experienced practice teams, regional managers and dedicated marketing to help you grow your patient base.

Kathryn chose the Sunshine Coast hinterland for a better working life and family lifestyle. She found more time for her two boys, an outdoor way of life and a stronger connection to the local community. We will help you compare available roles against your clinical goals and personal priorities.

The Ochre difference

Our story began in the Australian outback when two GPs set out to solve the rural workforce shortage. More than 20 years later, Ochre Health has become one of Australia's leading healthcare providers, connecting doctors with rewarding careers and communities where they can truly make a difference.

The proposition is straightforward: you focus on medicine and patients; Ochre provides the support behind you - so you can build meaningful relationships and deliver care where it is needed most.

About you

· You hold MRCGP and can provide the required evidence

· Your eligible RCGP qualification and CCT were awarded under the current Medical Board requirements from August 2007

· You hold a CCT awarded by the GMC or the Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board and did not complete the currently excluded CCT Combined Training Pathway

· You are eligible, or willing to be assessed, for Australian specialist registration and the appropriate Australian visa/work rights

· You are willing to complete the required supervised practice, cultural safety education, orientation and workplace-based assessments.

· You value continuity of care, clinical quality and meaningful patient and community relationships.

· You hold current GMC registration and can meet AHPRAs recency, English-language, identity, criminal-history, professional-standing and other registration requirements.
