We are seeking a dedicated General Practitioner to join our team in the United Kingdom. Based in Watford, this role is vital in delivering high-quality primary care services and supporting the health and well-being of our community. About the Role

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust are bringing the management of the Watford Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) back in-house and are seeking Locum GPs via NHSP Bank to support the service.

The UTC provides same-day assessment and treatment for urgent, non-life-threatening conditions within a multidisciplinary clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure regular, long-term locum work in a well-supported NHS environment.

Available Shifts (Weekly for minimum 6 months)

  • Saturday & Sunday: 12:00 – 20:00
  • Various weekdays & weekends: 14:00 – 20:00
  • Monday to Sunday: 16:00 – 00:00

(Some weekday 10:00 – 20:00 shifts are already filled.)

A total of 19 shifts per week requires cover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care for urgent presentations
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage minor illness and injury
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary UTC team
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
  • Follow NHS clinical guidelines and ensure safe patient care
  • Refer patients appropriately and support continuity of care

Essential Requirements

  • Fully qualified GP
  • Must be on the GP Register (essential)
  • Previous urgent care / UTC / OOH experience desirable
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to commit to regular ongoing shifts
