£14.50 per hour + monthly bonus scheme of £1.45 per hour based on GP results + tips.

We’re looking for a Chef de Partie to join our team. As part of a small team, this role encompasses all sections of the kitchen, and leading quieter shifts. You will be working under a dedicated senior team of a very experienced Head Chef.

The Earl of Essex is an independent craft beer and food pub in Angel, with a big crowd of lovely locals coming for the food as much as for the beer. As an established and well-loved pub it is reliably busy every day of the week, especially in the warmer months of the year. Sunday Roasts are particularly popular and is an important and fun day for the pub. We use high quality ingredients and treat them simply and with care to create a quite classic and delicious modern European menu with a lean towards updated British pub classics.

14 keg lines and 6 cask lines allow for a broad selection of the best beers we can get our hands on, focussing on independent breweries and a balanced selection based on assured quality rather than shots in the dark. Lots of wine, spirits and simple but consistent cocktails are also sold in good quantity. Our food menu is focussed on pubby classics and updates thereon, using high quality ingredients and almost everything made from scratch.
