We’re expanding the fundraising team and looking for a face-to-face fundraiser based in or near South East London to cover workplaces across South East London and the surrounding areas. Some travel further afield will be agreed with you in advance. Own transport is required.

These are self-employed roles with guaranteed earnings of £93 per day, uncapped commission with on target earnings of £400 per day plus a quarterly bonus paid in April, July, October and December.

The schedule of work is between 1 – 3 weekdays per week agreed in advance, with options for more days as and when required. The role will require some travel inside and outside the local region.

"I was new to fundraising and the training I received was superb. There was careful consideration with the dates and locations as I’m based in Scotland and the company is in England.

The training included shadowing one of the top performers which was invaluable experience in the field as well as gaining product knowledge and company policy training.

On a typical day I have 5 appointments where I plan my route and choose my start and end time. I read all the notes for each appointment in case there are requests for specific times which is all laid out clearly in the tablet that we use. I sometimes stay overnight too in the location paid by the company.

I’m always in communication with the office staff throughout the day over the phone who are very supportive.

I get to travel and meet interesting people every day and knowing that every pledge given is supporting a charity is a satisfying feeling. The company are also incredibly generous with their payment structure.

In summary, the role requires you to attend pre-made appointments at company workplaces to speak to employees about their employer’s Payroll Giving scheme. You need to be able to quickly engage with people to explain the benefits and refer to any charities they might want to donate to.

Own transport is a requirement for this role; different appointments are booked for each day.

You will be expected to travel within your region, and potentially outside your region.

The right person will be confident, personable, target-driven, organised and enjoy working independently. Suits experienced face to face fundraisers, but also those with direct sales experience with out-going enthusiastic personalities.

Working days are flexible and arranged in advance. Once working days are agreed, appointments are provided to be visited on the agreed days.

About Hands On Payroll Giving

We are a family-run Professional Fundraising Organisation established in 1994, dedicated to fundraising for charities by helping people donate via their pay (a scheme called Payroll Giving).

The fundraising team promote Payroll Giving within workplaces on behalf of national charities. Fundraisers attend appointments (made by our booking team in the office) within different companies such as BT, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Howdens and wilko to speak to employees about giving to charity from their pay.

The companies support visits, and many provide matching on employee donations. All materials and full training are supplied, we have a brilliant office team who book our fundraisers’ work and are on hand to support when needed.

Our highest earning fundraisers are upbeat, motivated and organised.

Responsibilities

• Attending pre-booked appointments to speak to employees about employer supported scheme
• Being organised to attend bookings on time and in a professional manner
• Speaking about a range of local and national charities
• Travelling around your region and potentially further afield (where agreed with you)
• Collecting data from employees wishing to give to any UK charity (in line with data protection policy)
• Keeping up to date with client matching policies and charity news
• Being part of a small, friendly team

Qualifications and Experience

• Face to face sales and / or fundraising experience
• DBS check prior to training
• Ability to work on your own and remain organised
• Flawless spoken English and strong written English
• Strong communication skills
• Own transportation and willing to travel
