Full job description

PeoplePlus is seeking an exceptional relationship-builder and strategic leader to drive our employer engagement and social value agenda across Nottingham and the East Midlands.

This is a high-profile, senior-facing role at the heart of regional employability, economic inclusion and social impact - working directly alongside the Employability Director to position PeoplePlus as the leading provider of inclusive recruitment, skills and social value solutions.

We are looking for someone who can operate confidently at executive level, influence regional stakeholders and bring employers, public sector partners and communities together around a shared commitment to inclusive employment.

This is not a transactional sales role. It is an opportunity to shape regional strategy, influence labour market priorities and create meaningful pathways into employment for people facing barriers to work.

What You’ll Be Leading

You will:

  • Develop and lead the Nottingham Employer Engagement & Social Value Strategy
  • Build influential partnerships with anchor employers, EMCA, Jobcentre Plus, local authorities and regional business networks
  • Champion inclusive recruitment and socially responsible hiring across the region
  • Lead the Nottingham chapter of the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group (SRAG)
  • Align employer activity with Connect to Work and wider PeoplePlus programmes
  • Support employers to strengthen ESG and social value commitments
  • Create sustainable employment opportunities for disadvantaged communities
  • Represent PeoplePlus at high-profile regional and stakeholder forums

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to:

  • Influence regional economic and employability priorities
  • Work directly with senior leadership and strategic stakeholders
  • Shape social value delivery across Nottingham and the East Midlands
  • Develop innovative employer partnerships with measurable community impact
  • Position PeoplePlus as a leading voice in inclusive employment and social recruitment

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Builds credibility and influence at senior stakeholder level
  • Has experience in employer engagement, partnerships or social value delivery
  • Understands regional labour markets and economic development
  • Can translate social impact into commercial and business value
  • Is passionate about inclusive recruitment and creating opportunities for all
  • Thrives in strategic, relationship-led environments

Here at People Plus, we make a positive difference to people’s lives – every single day.

We use our experience to support hundreds of thousands of people each year. Our committed teams work across Britain to deliver a range of public services, including employment support, skills training, prison education, starting a business, and support to help employers grow.

To put it simply, we:

  • Support people to find and keep jobs
  • Help people to set up their own businesses
  • Deliver skills training to further people’s careers
  • Work with employers to build a skilled and happy workforce
  • Rehabilitate people with convictions
  • Tackle the root causes of offending
  • Support carers

We are extremely proud to be a Gold accredited Investors in People organisation. This demonstrates our commitment to creating the very best environment and culture for our colleagues to succeed and thrive.
