Our story started in 1869, 150 years ago, when Prestons of Bolton was founded by goldsmith James Preston. Today, our locations in Norwich, Guildford, Leeds, Wilmslow and central London together showcase the world's finest watch houses, an exquisite selection of bridal and fine jewellery and offer in-house designers, setters and goldsmiths who craft our collections using time-honoured skills and state-of-the-art technology.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Mounter/Goldsmith to join the team at our central London workshop. As part of a small but highly skilled team, you will support not only our showrooms but our wider workshop team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to bring their skills to a dynamic and growing company.

Responsibilities

  • High end jewellery mounting from cast
  • Componentry build and clean up
  • Experience with mechanisms
  • Proficiency in bespoke high complexity pieces working to intricate tolerances and quality standards
  • Precise & Accurate Ring Sizing
  • Re-tipping & Intricate Claw Work
  • Polishing & Rhodium Plating
  • Adept with Laser Technology
  • Line Bracelet Alterations
  • Experience & Expertise with Platinum & 18ct
  • Re-Shanks

The role offers the opportunity to work on varied pieces and jobs to utilise a wide range of skills and expertise.

The ideal candidate will showcase:

  • proven experience in this role or similar
  • excellent attention to detail
  • strong communication and time management skills
  • an ability to work with a wide range of precious metals
  • an ability to work well under pressure
