Job Title - Front of House staff - Permanent Contract (not seasonal)

Situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park, Hockley Golf Club has been welcoming members and guests since 1914. Our Clubhouse is the heart of our community, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere for our 600 members year-round.

We are looking for a full time friendly, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual to join our Food & Beverage team. The ideal candidate will have a ‘can-do’ attitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to engage with a wide variety of personalities. Previous experience in a bar or restaurant environment is preferred. This position is 30-35hrs per week, over 5 days. This is not a student summer job, this is for someone who is looking for a permanent position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring members and guests feel welcome
  • Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
  • Upsell menu items and promote daily specials to enhance the guest experience
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely service
  • Handle guest enquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally
  • Process payments accurately, including handling cash and card transactions
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the Clubhouse
  • Follow opening and closing procedures, including securing the Clubhouse when required

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is desirable but not essential
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and closing procedures
  • Understanding of food safety practices to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
  • A team player with a proactive and positive attitude
  • Due to our location, reliable transportation is required
  • Applicants must be 18 or over due to the serving of alcohol
