Our second Academy brings a cutting-edge feel to cooking classes in partnership with HexClad. Located on the 58th floor of 22 Bishopsgate, 250m above the rest of London Gordon Ramsay Academy is really one of a kind.

Cookery School Teacher /Chef Tutor – Gordon Ramsay Academy - 22 Bishopsgate

We are looking for an enthusiastic and charismatic individual, passionate about sharing their knowledge of food to join our new Gordon Ramsay Academy team, as a Cookery School Teacher.

As a Cookery School Teacher, you’ll guide guests on an unforgettable culinary journey, whilst teaching them essential skills and techniques.

  • Deliver exceptional cookery classes across a wide range of subjects
  • Offer guests exceptional service and ensure they feel welcome from the start, leave feeling inspired with all the tools they need to cook at home and have a desire to learn more
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of all recipes, techniques, cuisines and topics taught in the classes
  • Be creative and adaptable when it comes to teaching, responding to guest questions in a positive way and being flexible within classes to cater to all skill levels, personalities and requirements
  • Ensure all class preparation of equipment is complete in a timely manner
  • Keep kitchens and equipment clean, orderly and presentable when not in use
  • Be responsible for managing the hygiene of the kitchen and ensure all food safety standards are adhered to and demonstrated to the highest standards at all times
  • Support the Head of Culinary in the daily running of The Academy and development of classes and events as required
  • Assist in training, supervising and supporting junior team members
  • Build guest relations through active interaction and engagement in every class

About you:

  • Desire to provide exceptional standards in customer service
  • Able to put guests at ease, whatever their backgrounds or experience
  • To have an active and engaging teaching style
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Confident manner and able to lead exciting and informative classes, team-building sessions and a variety of events
  • Able to adapt teaching and presenting methods to suit different audiences and guest requirements
  • Good interpersonal skills when working and willing to work as part of a team
  • Act as a key representative of the Gordon Ramsay brand
  • Knowledge, skills and experience
  • Previous experience within culinary education or cookery school
  • teaching, tutoring or mentoring
  • cooking in a commercial kitchen
  • Experience dealing with public guests and business clients
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • An awareness of budget management
