**Job Overview:**

ATCO Studio part of ATCO Group Ltd is a leading start-up in engineering solutions, is an ever growing firm looking for a candidate with an architectural experience in the UK to help us within the fields of Planning Applications and Building Control Applications. Our work is mostly focused on development of Residential homes. Due to the start-up nature of the company, there is a significant possibility of growth in the company and the successful candidate will get to work on all different aspects of a project.

We are seeking a talented Architectural Technologist/Building Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and planning, excellent technical skills, and the ability to bring innovative ideas to the table. The successful candidate doesn't need to work on drawings necessarily, but rather on creating strategies and breifs for every project, planning and D&A statements, Building Control Application, Technical Design, and communications with stakeholders and leading the drawing technicians.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Designing the planning strategy of each project and communication with the cad technicians for them to create the 2D/3D model. To successful candidate will be essentially leading the design team to provide the required documents, drawings, CGIs and statements that are required for the successful progress of the project.
  • Liaison with the client, PM and other stakeholders to finalize the design.
  • Working on mostly RIBA Stage 3 and Stage 4 design, drawings and documents.
  • General understanding of various disciplines in the field such as architecutre, interior design, MEP and structure.
  • Double checking of the drawings, technical verifications, annotations, etc.
  • Preparation of the Planning, Design and Access, or simple Heritage Statements or other relevant statements.
  • Submission of Planning Applications to the planning portal.
  • Liaision with planning officer until reaching the planning decision.
  • Designing the building control strategy for each project and communication with the architectural technicians for them to create the 2D/3D model.
  • Submission of the building control or BSR application.
  • Liaision with the building control officer until reaching the solution.
  • Site visits for architectural survey for creation of the existing/as-built drawings
  • Working on the drawings in case of an urgent matter.
  • Working on other related relevant tasks should the need arise.

**Qualifications:**
Main Experiences and qualifications that we are looking for in a successful candidate are:

  • Experienced within the field of planning policies and building control regulations of the UK for at least 2 years.
  • General understanding of various disciplines in the field such as architecutre, interior design, MEP and structure.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecturral technology or building engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of the latest UK planning regulations including the NPPF, London Plan, and Local Authorities supplementary planning guidances
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of the latest UK Building Regulations, CDM 2015, HSE Regulations, Party Wall Act 1996
  • Willingness to learn new subjects when the need arises.

Other experiences that are required:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Autodesk Revit.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
