Biomedical Scientist | Home Counties | £30,000 - £35,000pa
Castlefield is delighted to be working exclusively to source a specialist Biomedical Scientist,. Working within a high‑quality, patient‑centred diagnostic service. You shall bring a strong blend of microbiology, haematology, histopathology, molecular techniques, data analysis, and quality assurance, offering both technical depth and a compassionate, service‑driven approach.
Requirements:
- Participated in sample preparation, analysis, technical interpretation, troubleshooting, reporting, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and traceability
- Experience working with key laboratory equipment, and routine diagnostic platforms
- Active involvement in quality assurance, including daily QC, equipment calibration, SOP compliance, internal audits, and preparations for UKAS inspections.
- Strong background in data interpretation and reporting, including reviewing analyser outputs, summarising findings for consultant pathologists, and supporting research documentation
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, LIMS, and experienced with SPSS for academic data analysis
- Hands‑on exposure to Mass Spectrometry ,including sample preparation, troubleshooting, and collaborative data analysis
Experience and Qualifications:
- A valid HCPC registration is essential
- Hands‑on exposure to Mass Spectrometry
- Experience in a lab setting
