Role summary

The Graduate Inside Sales Executive is an internally based role responsible for managing customer enquiries, qualifying sales leads, and supporting the field sales team. The role helps to handle incoming sales opportunities and prepares them for the field sales team to pursue.

The postholder will work closely with other teams within the company to ensure all sales opportunities are handled professionally and progressed in line with business priorities. The role will also provide additional capacity to the field sales team through following up with customers and managing early sales activities.

While the primary focus of the role is managing incoming sales opportunities and providing internal sales support, a proportion of time will be dedicated to reaching out to new customers in key markets.

You'll likely have a relevant degree to align to a role in either our life sciences sales team or our telecoms team. If you don't have the qualification but can demonstrate a passion for the technology backed up with strong STEM A Levels we'd still like to hear from you.

Responsibilities and Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for sales enquiries from new and existing customers.
  • Qualify inbound and marketing-generated leads, establishing customer requirements, application needs, purchasing timelines, and commercial potential.
  • Conduct early-stage customer engagement activities via phone, email, and professional social media.
  • Coordinate and schedule discovery or introduction meetings between interested customers and the relevant field sales or technical colleagues.
  • Provide ongoing account support activity, including follow-up communication with existing customers to maintain engagement and identify future opportunities.
  • Maintain clear and current records of all customer interactions, opportunity stages, and qualification details within our systems.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of company products, supplier portfolios, customer applications, and competitor activity.
  • Support with new leads and engagement associated with webinars, exhibitions, conferences, and marketing campaigns.

Business Development (Secondary Focus)

  • Contact potential customers in defined strategic market segments.
  • Contact selected prospective customers through structured outreach activity.
  • Identify and develop early-stage opportunities for qualification and progression into the wider sales pipeline.

Additional Duties

  • Support wider sales and marketing projects and initiatives as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of internal sales processes and customer engagement workflows.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management in support of business objectives.

Pay: £33,000.00-£36,500.00 per year
