Graduate Technical Specialist, Scientist or Engineer – Hospital Based Customer Facing role - NHS/Private hospitals with a pathway (& training support) to a professional medical sales career

Huntingdon (Cambs) based role – open to candidates within a 50 minute drive of Huntingdon (so also open to East Midlands candidates)

£28,000 - £30,000 Basic Salary, company car or car allowance – full professional training provided - lots of opportunity to travel (on expenses!) – occasionally internationally

Our client is a leading provider of specialist surgical equipment to NHS and private medicine and their products are often an indispensable part of surgical procedures

They are offering a hospital based Graduate role for an aspiring technical specialist, scientist or engineer to work in a wide range of medical settings with a clear pathway to a longer term theatre based medical sales role

They have a very clear plan for your medical sales career;-

  • Go into hospitals, commission and maintain their equipment
  • Establish relations with a wide range of stakeholders in each hospital – Surgeons, Theatre Nurses, Hospital technical/site/facilities managers (these will be invaluable later)
  • Become a product expert in every aspect of the equipment you work with
  • Act as a trusted partner, identify further potential sales opportunities to bring back to the business
  • Make that knowledge and experience count – with a clear route into medical sales as a next step

The role

This practical, technical role is very much one taking in the full service life cycle that could mean you are involved right through from the installation and implementation of equipment in hospitals on to training, monitoring and maintenance of your client’s apparatus. What makes this role different is that you will engage with your client as a trusted partner at every stage of the product life cycle providing advice which makes it very likely that your customer will want to know about other equipment, upgrades and service contract options. Being a trusted partner is key to your success.

The advantage of this role from a career perspective is that you rapidly become a product expert which will sit very well assuming you move into mainstream sales as your next career step. You will enjoy unrivalled level of customer access on a daily basis that sales people can only dream about. If you then decide that a full scale sales development role is for you, you’ve already got a wide ranging customer contact book, unrivalled product knowledge and a high level of technical credibility as you look to proactively open new client accounts and widen the range of products and services that existing clients take!

The Individual:-

Graduate Sales Technical Specialist, Scientist or Engineer - The ideal candidate;-

· Any Scientific, Engineering or similar technical background

· You don’t mind getting your hands dirty! – you will be hands on in this role

· A desire to ultimately work in theatre based surgical medical sales

· Full training provided both from a technical perspective and to help you engage with clients effectively

· Full Driving licence required
