English Graduate Teaching Assistant
Romford, East London

Are you an English graduate looking to gain paid classroom experience before moving into teacher training or a long term career in education?

We are working closely with welcoming primary and secondary schools in Romford who are looking to appoint an English Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS2 KS3 and KS4.

This role is ideal for graduates considering PGCE Schools Direct or Teach First.

The role

  • Supporting pupils within English and literacy lessons
  • Delivering one to one and small group interventions
  • Supporting reading writing comprehension and spoken English
  • Working closely with class teachers SENCOs and pastoral teams
  • Helping pupils build confidence engagement and academic progress

The ideal candidate

  • Degree in English or a related subject
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A genuine interest in education literacy and pupil development
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
  • Considering a future career in teaching education or SEND
