Full job description

About Us

The Crafty Bonobo is a growing personalised products company specialising in bespoke signage, décor and gifts.

We manufacture products in-house using specialist equipment including CO2 laser machines, CNC equipment and UV printing, selling nationwide through Amazon, Etsy, eBay, TikTok Shop and our own websites.

We are now launching a major expansion into personalised neon signs and are looking for the right person to help lead this exciting new part of the business.

The Role

This is not just a general workshop role.

You will take a leading role in the design, production and day-to-day running of our personalised neon signs.

Neon signs will become your thing — you’ll learn the full process from design through to manufacture and fulfilment, helping us grow what we believe will become a major part of the business.

Alongside neon signs, you’ll also support production across our wider personalised product range within the workshop.

Initially the role will be part-time, with a clear pathway to full-time employment for the right person when you are fully trained..

You will receive hands-on training in Wrexham for a few days to properly learn the neon sign production process.

Key Responsibilities

Leading the design and production of personalised neon signs

  • Preparing designs for manufacture
  • Producing and assembling neon signs
  • Quality checking finished products
  • Helping improve and streamline the neon production process

You’ll also assist with:

  • Operating CO2 laser machines and CNC equipment (training provided)
  • Producing personalised products
  • Packaging and dispatching customer orders
  • General workshop organisation and stock handling
  • Maintaining a clean and efficient workspace

What We’re Looking For

We care far more about attitude, reliability and willingness to learn than experience.

You’ll be a great fit if you are:

✅ Practical and hands-on
✅ Reliable and hard-working
✅ Organised and detail-focused
✅ Comfortable using computers/basic software
✅ Eager to take ownership of a role
✅ Positive and willing to learn

Bonus (not essential):

  • Experience with CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or similar software
  • Previous workshop, manufacturing or production experience
  • Experience making signs, vinyl work, laser cutting or CNC

Working Hours

  • Part-time to start, with progression to full-time
  • 16–60 hours per week depending on season/workload
  • Saturday working will be required
  • Significant overtime available during busy periods (especially Christmas)

Reliability is Extremely Important

Because we sell through Amazon Prime, we operate to very strict same-day dispatch deadlines, meaning reliability and punctuality are absolutely essential in this role.

Our customers expect orders to be produced and shipped on time every single day, so excellent attendance and arriving on time are non-negotiable.

We’re a very friendly, relaxed and supportive team environment — however, we do take reliability seriously and are looking for somebody dependable who takes pride in showing up, being part of the team, and doing things properly.

Bonus Skills (Highly Advantageous)

We also operate a UV printer for producing personalised products, so any previous experience with UV printing, print production, artwork setup or related machinery would be a major advantage. This is absolutely not essential, as full training can be provided, but applicants with relevant experience may have opportunities to take on additional responsibility within the business.

Pay & Benefits

Pay: Up to £12.21 per hour (or National Minimum Wage depending on age and experience)

✅ Full training provided
✅ Opportunity to grow into a long-term full-time role
✅ Real responsibility within a growing business
✅ Staff discounts
✅ On-site parking
✅ Friendly workshop environment

Minimum Age: 18+
Location: Cwmbran
Start Date: Immediate
