Full job description

Front of House Supervisor / Team Leader

Hours: Full-time, mainly daytime shifts with limited evening work
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

We are looking for a confident, positive and hands-on Front of House Supervisor to join our team at Wakehurst.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, leading from the front and being part of building a strong, supportive team. We are looking for someone who wants to make a real difference — not just by delivering great service, but by helping create a workplace where the team feel supported, motivated and proud of what they do.

You will be helping to lead the day-to-day running of a busy café and visitor attraction catering environment, supporting the team during service, keeping standards high and making sure our customers have a brilliant experience.

This is a hands-on role, so we are looking for someone who is happy to get stuck in, bring energy to the team and help keep things running smoothly during busy periods.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading and supporting the front of house team during shifts
  • Helping to create a positive, friendly and motivated team culture
  • Being a key point of contact during service and helping make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Delivering excellent customer service and supporting the team to do the same
  • Handling customer queries and resolving issues confidently and professionally
  • Supporting till operations, cash handling and end-of-day cashing up
  • Helping with stock control, ordering and deliveries
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and compliance
  • Training, coaching and encouraging team members to develop their skills
  • Bringing ideas and energy to help improve the way we work

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role within hospitality
  • Someone who enjoys working as part of a team and supporting others
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • A calm, organised approach during busy periods
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude
  • Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
  • A genuine passion for great customer service
  • Someone who wants to be part of building something positive at Wakehurst

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their hospitality career within a unique environment, surrounded by a supportive team and a brilliant customer base.

If you enjoy leading from the front, bringing people together and making a difference every day, we would love to hear from you.
