Full job description

We are recruiting 2–3 General Labourers / Event Installation Crew Members for our busy summer season (May to mid-September).

This is a physically demanding outdoor labouring role involving the delivery, installation and removal of marquees and event equipment across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The role is ideal for people who enjoy practical hands-on work, working outdoors and being part of a small installation team. It is not a customer-facing or supervisory “event” role.

About us

Cromore Events is a marquee and event hire company based in Portstewart, supplying marquees and infrastructure for weddings, festivals, concerts, sporting events, corporate events and private functions across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Our work is practical and field-based, involving the transport, setup and removal of temporary event structures and equipment on sites across the region.

About the role

Each day starts at our Portstewart base where vehicles and trailers are loaded before travelling to event sites.

You will work as part of a small installation crew carrying out the setup and dismantling of marquees and event infrastructure.

The work is active and physical and can involve long days outdoors in varying weather conditions depending on event schedules.

Key responsibilities

Loading and unloading vehicles and trailers

Lifting, carrying and moving equipment

Assisting with the installation and dismantling of:

  • marquees and gazebos
  • flooring systems
  • crowd barriers
  • ground protection systems
  • staging and event equipment

General labouring duties on event sites

Assisting with site setup and breakdown

Supporting safe working practices

Working as part of a team on live event sites

Important

This is a manual outdoor labouring role.

You will regularly be:

  • lifting and carrying heavy equipment
  • working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • on your feet for long hours
  • travelling to and from event sites
  • working early mornings, late evenings and weekends during busy periods

This role is not suitable for applicants looking for office, customer service or supervisory event work.

Working Pattern

  • Seasonal contract: mid-May to mid-September
  • Hours vary depending on event schedules
  • Early starts, late finishes and weekend work required
  • No fixed 9–5 pattern
  • Up to 40+ hours during busy periods

What We Are looking for

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Hard working with a good attitude
  • Comfortable with physical outdoor work
  • Able to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Own transport to/from Portstewart required
  • Full driving licence desirable but not essential
  • Previous labouring, construction, farming, landscaping, warehouse or outdoor work experience helpful but not required
