Location: Bury, Greater Manchester
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (with overtime available)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hardworking Groundsman to join our expanding property and development team.

The successful candidate will have experience carrying out a wide range of groundwork and site preparation tasks across commercial and industrial developments. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work, can work independently, and has a strong understanding of groundwork operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site clearance and preparation
  • Ground levelling and land grading using appropriate equipment
  • Excavation and trenching works
  • Installing drainage systems, including foul and surface water drainage
  • Laying concrete bases, foundations, slabs and hard standings
  • Preparing land for construction and development
  • Operating plant and machinery (where qualified)
  • Working from site plans and following specifications
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
  • Following all health and safety procedures

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Groundsman or Groundworker
  • Proven experience laying drainage systems
  • Experience with concrete works and foundations
  • Experience flattening, grading and preparing land for development
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking

Desirable

  • CPCS or NPORS plant operator qualifications
  • Dumper and Roller tickets
  • Excavator experience
  • CSCS Card
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial developments
