Carpenter / Multi-Skilled Builder & Maintenance Operative

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Carpenter to join our team. This is a hands-on role where carpentry will be the main focus, alongside general building and maintenance works across our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation, maintenance and repair of fire doors to required standards
• Fitting and replacing intumescent strips
• Installation and adjustment of door closers
• Fitting letterboxes and spy holes
• Door adjustments, easing and lipping
• General first and second fix carpentry works
• Carrying out general building and property maintenance tasks as required

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Carpenter
• Strong knowledge of fire door installation and repair standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Full UK driving licence (preferred)

Customer Service is of great importance to us and our clients, to be successful in this role you will need; to have good time keeping, a clean and tidy appearance (uniform t-shirts, jumpers and Hi-Vis are provided) and preferably your own tools.

Your job responsibilities will include

• Travelling to and from jobs across Bournemouth, Southampton, Poole, Basingstoke, Andover and Salisbury (company vehicle will be provided).
• Responding to requests from Managing and Letting Agents for maintenance services, including fitting and repairing fire doors, repair/replacing compartmentation materials, replacing guttering, installing new locks, fencing, patios and other maintenance work.
• Carrying out all aspects of building/maintenance to a high standard including; carpentry, kitchen and bathroom fitting, leak detection, patch roof repairs, painting and decorating (both internal and external), groundworks and landscaping and other general building and maintenance.

Qualifications Required

To comply with CDM Regulations, you must have the following training (If you don’t have these, this can be completed once employment commences);

• First Aid
• Working at Height
• Asbestos Awareness
• Manual Handling

As well as;

• At least 3 years experience in carpentry.
• Excellent facility with common hand and power tools
• Familiarity with flat unit layouts and infrastructures
• Ability to communicate well with property management and maintenance staff
• Willingness to uphold company standards for safety, service and efficiency
• Full UK Driving License
• 2 previous references

Hours

Core hours are 7:30am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday.
We do offer a 24 hour call out service, therefore you will be rota'd on to cover this on some occasions.
