Full job description

A long-established social housing contractor is looking for an experienced Multi-Trade Operative with a strong carpentry background.

This is a permanent, mobile role carrying out planned maintenance, refurbishment and general building works within occupied social housing properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing first and second-fix carpentry
  • Repairing and replacing doors, frames, skirting boards and architraves
  • Carrying out timber repairs and replacements
  • Patch plastering and making good
  • Painting and decorating
  • Basic brickwork, rendering and pointing
  • Fencing and external repairs
  • Guttering and roofline repairs
  • Completing general building and maintenance works
  • Working safely and professionally within occupied properties
  • Ensuring all work is completed to the required quality standard

Essential Requirements

  • Strong carpentry background
  • Previous experience working as a Multi-Trade Operative
  • Ability to complete a range of additional building and maintenance trades
  • Experience working within social housing, domestic maintenance or residential refurbishment
  • Experience working safely within occupied properties
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK manual driving licence

A relevant carpentry or trade qualification would be beneficial.
