Job Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Trade Assistant/Trainee Maintenance Operative to join our Building Services Division.

This is a varied and rewarding role supporting our experienced maintenance and refurbishment teams, carrying out reactive repairs and planned refurbishment works across a wide range of commercial properties.

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a construction, maintenance, or trade environment and will be confident supporting experienced operatives while continuing to develop their skills across multiple trades.

The role involves travelling to customer sites within approximately a 150-mile radius of our head office, therefore candidates mush be comfortable with regular travel.

Key Duties:

· Assist experienced multi-trade operatives with reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and refurbishment projects.

· Support works including basic carpentry, tiling, plaster repairs, decorating, guttering, basic plumbing, and general building maintenance.

· Develop practical skills across multiple trades through on-the-job training and guidance.

· Carry out work to a high standard, ensuring excellent customer service is maintained

· Complete job sheets accurately and assist with recording materials used.

· Support fault finding and basic diagnosis of maintenances issues.

· Maintain a professional approach when working within customer premises.

· Follow company health and safety procedures and work safely at all times.

· Work effectively as part of a team while developing confidence to work independently.

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable, and keen to develop their career within the maintenance and construction industry.

You will ideally have some experience within a trade, construction, maintenance, or similar environment, although we are also interested in candidates who demonstrate the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Experience in some of the following areas would be beneficial:

• Carpentry
• Basic plumbing
• Tiling
• Plaster repairs
• Painting and decorating
• General building maintenance

Essential Requirements:

· Previous experience within a construction, maintenance, or trade environment

· Full UK driving licence (essential due to the mobile nature of the role)

· Positive attitude and strong work ethic

· Good communication skills and customer focused approach

· Ability to follow instructions and work safely

· Reliable and punctual

Pay: £22,568.00-£26,436.00 per year
