Your Purpose

You will be responsible for the day to day maintenance and repair of for all our facilities at PossAbilities. This includes day to day maintenance and repair tasks, through to cyclical repairs and maintenance.

Your Role

• Putting up curtain rails, shelves, pictures frames
• Fitting smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, grab rails
• Replacing fuses, light bulbs, light fittings
• Unblocking sinks, fixing leaking taps and overflow problems
• Adjusting and rehanging doors
• Moving and assembling items of furniture
• Painting and decorating
• Routine gardening work, clearing out guttering or taking on minor building repairs
• Repairing appliances
• Installation and removal of appliances
• Meet with the Facilities Manager on a regular basis in order to receive supervision and report on the progress/development of the service.
• Maintain a working knowledge of health and safety, fire safety, facilities contract management, and safeguarding.
• Take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of people the service support, your colleagues and others to reduce risk
• Respond to comments or complaints in line with PossAbilities policies.
• Ensure all necessary health and safety checks are carried out in line with requirements.

• Use PossAbilities property and equipment appropriately, safely and with due consideration for its security.

• Undertake any other duties and tasks as may be reasonably required
• Adopt a flexible approach to the hours worked in accordance with the needs of the individual and the organisation
