Full job description

We’re recruiting for an experienced Multi-Trade Operative with a strong carpentry background to join a well-established contractor delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment works across Southeast London and Kent.

This is a permanent Monday-to-Friday position offering long-term, stable work, with no call-outs.

The role would suit an experienced Carpenter / Multi-Trader who is confident carrying out a range of building and maintenance works within occupied social housing properties.

The Role

You’ll be carrying out planned maintenance, repairs and refurbishment works across occupied residential properties, with carpentry as your primary trade.

Works will include:

  • 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
  • Timber repairs and replacements
  • Doors, frames, skirting and architraves
  • Patch plastering
  • Painting and decorating
  • Brickwork repairs
  • Rendering and pointing
  • Fencing and external repairs
  • Guttering and roofline repairs
  • General building and maintenance works

You’ll be expected to complete works to a high standard, work independently and provide a professional service when working in residents' homes.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong carpentry background
  • Good all-round multi-trade skills
  • Previous experience within social housing, domestic maintenance or refurbishment
  • Experience working within occupied properties
  • Good knowledge of general building repairs
  • Ability to diagnose issues and complete works independently
  • Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
  • Professional and respectful approach when dealing with residents
  • Full UK driving licence
