Our services include drainage repairs, gutter cleaning and maintenance, downpipe clearance, CCTV drainage surveys and general drainage maintenance.

We are looking for an experienced Drainage, Gutter & Downpipe Maintenance Engineer to join our friendly and growing team, covering the South East of England.

The Role

You will be working independently or as part of a team, carrying out reactive and planned drainage, gutter and downpipe maintenance works for our commercial customers.

The role involves diagnosing and resolving drainage issues, maintaining rainwater systems, clearing blocked gutters and downpipes, and ensuring all works are completed safely and to a high standard.

Main Duties

• Carry out drainage unblocking, diagnose defects and take appropriate corrective action.
• Maintain existing sewer systems, including stormwater and foul drainage systems.
• Carry out routine and reactive gutter cleaning, clearance and maintenance.
• Inspect, unblock and maintain rainwater downpipes and associated drainage systems.
• Remove leaves, moss, silt and other debris from gutters, outlets and downpipes.
• Identify and report defects, leaks, damaged guttering and faulty downpipe connections.
• Carry out minor repairs to guttering and downpipe systems where required.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance of gutters, downpipes and drainage systems across commercial properties.
• Maintain and service pump stations.
• Carry out CCTV drainage surveys and identify defects or blockages.
• Use high-pressure water jetting equipment to clear blockages.
• Complete job reports, photographs and maintenance records using a PDA.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures.
• Provide a professional and reliable service to customers.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in commercial drainage, gutter maintenance, downpipe clearance or a similar maintenance role.
• Good technical knowledge of drainage systems, rainwater systems and associated maintenance tasks.
• Experience using high-pressure water jetting equipment and CCTV drainage survey equipment would be advantageous.
• Experience with gutter cleaning equipment, including gutter vacuum systems and access equipment, would be beneficial.
• Ability to identify drainage and rainwater system defects and resolve problems logically.
• Confident working independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with customers.
• Ability to use a PDA or mobile device to complete job cards and reports.
• Ability to safely lift and remove drainage covers using appropriate equipment.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Experience working at height, including the safe use of ladders, MEWPs or other access equipment, would be advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
