Full job description

Armoury Coach (Full-Time, employed, 37.5 Hours)

Location: The Armoury Coaching Studio (Newport Pagnell & Bletchley Branches)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (including early mornings, evenings, and some weekends)

Career Trajectory: Coach > Senior Coach > Studio Manager > Armoury Studio Owner

About The Armoury

We’re not a typical gym.

We coach real people (mostly 35–55) who’ve tried gyms before and struggled with consistency. Our job is to give them structure, accountability, and a level of coaching they’ve never experienced before.

Sessions are small group personal training (max 6 clients), fully coached, and tailored to the individual.

We currently have 4 operating studios and are expanding year on year - the right candidate will aspire to be a part of that journey

The Role

This is a full-time coaching role for someone who wants to become exceptional at coaching, not just “be a PT”.

You’ll be delivering high-level small group sessions, supporting clients outside of sessions, and playing a key role in the overall experience that keeps people consistent long-term.

You’ll also be developed into a well-rounded coach across:

  • Training
  • Nutrition
  • Behaviour change
  • Client communication
  • Retention and results

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Coaching & Delivery

  • Deliver outstanding small group PT sessions (max 6 clients)
  • Adapt sessions in real-time based on individual needs
  • Ensure every client feels seen, supported, and progressing

Client Experience

  • Build strong relationships with members
  • Conduct onboarding sessions and goal-setting
  • Support clients via WhatsApp/check-ins where needed
  • Spot drop-offs early and take action

Programming & Standards

  • Deliver Armoury programming to a high standard
  • Personalise within sessions where appropriate
  • Uphold session quality, energy, and structure

Studio Contribution

  • Support consultations/trials where required
  • Contribute to team meetings and ongoing development
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation

Who This Is For

This role suits someone who:

  • Wants a career, not just a job in fitness
  • Takes pride in becoming great at coaching
  • Is naturally proactive and takes ownership
  • Communicates well and builds relationships easily
  • Is organised and reliable
  • Is open to feedback and actively wants to improve

Who This Is NOT For

  • Someone who just wants to “run sessions” and go home
  • Someone resistant to feedback or structure
  • Someone chasing quick money over long-term development
  • Someone who isn’t comfortable working evenings/mornings

What You’ll Get

1. Structured Career Pathway

  • Clear progression from Coach to Senior Coach to Studio Manager
  • Potential involvement in new studio launches (including an equity pathway to owning your own Armoury Coaching Studio)

2. Ongoing Development

  • Weekly coaching development and feedback
  • Access to internal workshops and training systems
  • Mentorship in:
  • Programming
  • Nutrition coaching
  • Behaviour change
  • Communication
  • Real-world coaching reps, not just theory

3. Stability + Growth

  • Employed role (not self-employed uncertainty)
  • Consistent hours and income
  • Holiday pay, sick pay and pension contributions
  • Opportunity to grow earnings through progression

4. Be Part of Something Bigger

  • We’re building a brand across multiple locations
  • You’ll play a role in that growth
  • You’re not just a coach, you’re part of the mission
  • For the right coaches we can explore an equity model - to create gym owners as we scale

5. Proper Coaching Environment

  • Small group model (max 6 clients)
  • No overcrowded gym floor
  • Time and space to actually coach properly

Our Standards

We care about:

  • Energy in sessions
  • Building real connections with our clients
  • Attention to detail
  • Client results
  • Team culture

We don’t cut corners.

The Opportunity

Most PT jobs give you:

  • A gym floor
  • Rent to pay
  • And hope you figure it out

This isn’t that.

This is a chance to:

  • Become a genuinely high-level coach
  • Build a long-term career in fitness
  • And be part of a team doing things properly

Pay: Up to £32,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company events
  • Free parking
  • Gym membership

Work Location: In person
