Job Summary

We are seeking professional HGV Drivers to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating curtain sided lorries to deliver goods efficiently across various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills to ensure timely and secure deliveries. The ideal applicant will have prior experience in commercial driving and delivery operations, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of vehicle care and customer service.

Duties

  • Safely operate curtain sided lorries for the transportation of goods to designated destinations.
  • Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to legal driving hours and safety regulations.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring items are secured correctly for transit.
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies.
  • Comply with all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company procedures during journeys.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
  • Assist with vehicle cleaning and basic maintenance tasks to uphold vehicle standards.

Qualifications

  • Valid HGV licence with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with curtain sided vehicles.
  • Delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods via flatbed lorry.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional attitude when dealing with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality at all times.
