Overview
We are seeking experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for ADR and Tramping to join our logistics team.

The roles available are for the transportation of metal/scrap across various locations, ensuring compliance with all safety and legal regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial driving, experience with PTO equipment an advantage, deliveries, and possess excellent driving skills to uphold our company's reputation for reliability and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Operate HGV Class 1 safely and efficiently, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections prior to each shift, reporting any defects or issues promptly and at the end of shift.
  • Deliver goods to specified locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining a professional attitude.
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, particularly for PTO and Bulk trailer requiring securement of cargo/nets.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including delivery notes and vehicle logs.
  • Follow planned routes using GPS or other navigation tools, adjusting as necessary for traffic or weather conditions.
  • Ensure the security of the vehicle and cargo at all times during transit and whilst parked.
  • Load and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
  • Deliver goods to designated locations, ensuring timely arrival and adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel use, and any incidents that occur during transport.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
  • Uphold company standards for safety, cleanliness, and professionalism while on the road.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid HGV Class 1 licence.
  • Prior experience with Tramping and metal transportation is highly desirable.
  • Delivery driver experience demonstrating punctuality, reliability, and excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of UK road regulations related to commercial vehicles and hazardous goods transport.
  • Strong driving record with a focus on safety and compliance.
