Position Summary

The HR Officer provides operational HR support across the business, ensuring the effective delivery of core HR processes and day-to-day people activities. Working closely with the Senior HR Business Partner – Operations, this role supports managers and employees with HR administration, employee relations, recruitment, and compliance, helping to ensure consistent, high-quality HR service delivery across all sites.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Administration

  • Provide first-line HR support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment matters.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR systems, and personnel files in line with data protection requirements.
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, contract changes, and probation processes.
  • Prepare HR documentation including contracts, letters, and reports.

Employee Relations Support

  • Support the HRBP with employee relations cases, including absence management, disciplinary, grievance, and performance processes.
  • Attend meetings as required to provide HR support and note-taking.
  • Ensure HR policies are applied consistently and fairly across the business.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, including advertising, shortlisting support, interview scheduling, and offer administration.
  • Support hiring managers with recruitment processes and onboarding plans.
  • Deliver effective induction processes for new starters.

Compliance & Policy Support

  • Support compliance with employment legislation, internal policies, and company procedures.
  • Assist with HR audits, right-to-work checks, and compliance reporting.
  • Support absence tracking, holiday management, and workforce data reporting.

People & Culture Support

  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, training coordination, and people development activities.
  • Support the delivery of HR projects and initiatives led by the HRBP.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and professional working environment across all sites.

Reporting & Communication

  • Produce regular HR reports and metrics, including absence, turnover, and recruitment data.
  • Communicate HR processes, updates, and guidance clearly to managers and employees.
  • Liaise with Operations teams to support effective people management at site level.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in an HR Officer, HR Administrator, or similar HR support role.
  • Good working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and basic employment law.
  • Experience supporting employee relations and recruitment activities.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships.

Desirable

  • CIPD Level 3 or working towards CIPD Level 5. Experience considered
  • Experience working in a multi-site or operational environment.
  • Experience using Access People XD HR & Payroll system including Recruitment & Training
