Full job description

Cobrey Farms is a progressive, family-run business based in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. Managing crops across more than 3,500 acres, we produce high-quality asparagus, tenderstem broccoli, green beans, blueberries, rhubarb and potatoes for customers across the UK.

At Cobrey Farms, people are at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that our success is driven by our people, with approximately 1,200 seasonal workers joining our team each year to help deliver premium produce while living and working across our sites.

We're looking for an enthusiastic HR Administrator to join our friendly team to cover maternity leave for 12 months. This is a busy and rewarding role where no two days are the same. Working closely with the HR Manager, you'll support a variety of HR administration activities that help keep our seasonal operation running smoothly throughout the year.

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting the administration of seasonal worker recruitment, onboarding and arrivals.
  • Liaising with recruitment agencies and maintaining accurate worker records.
  • Managing the administration of seasonal worker arrivals and departures.
  • Monitoring and responding to recruitment inbox enquiries.
  • Assisting with disciplinary, grievance and investigation processes, including preparing documentation and taking notes.
  • Checking and processing recruitment agency invoices.
  • Coordinating worker questionnaires and reporting key findings.
  • Providing administrative support to our welfare teams.
  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors, including ordering stock for onsite facilities.
  • Supporting employee engagement activities and seasonal worker events.
  • Visit and support remotes sites in their HR and welfare activities.
  • Providing general administrative support across the HR team.

What we are looking for.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident communication skills
  • The ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks
  • A proactive, positive approach and willingness to get involved
  • Previous administration experience (HR experience would be advantageous but is not essential)

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a varied HR role within a successful family-run business. You'll gain exposure to all aspects of HR, recruitment and welfare administration while playing an important role in supporting our busy seasonal operation.

We welcome applications from candidates seeking full-time, part-time or school-hours working patterns. Whilst this position is site-based and operational requirements need to be met, we are happy to consider a range of hours for the right person. Due to the nature of the role, applicants should be available to work a minimum of 3 full days per week. Exact working arrangements can be discussed with the successful candidate.

Due to the nature of the operation, we are unable to accommodate working from home.
