About us

Tann Westlake is a digital agency specialising in the design and development of custom WordPress websites. Our work ranges from large-scale, multilingual platforms for international organisations through to smaller bespoke websites tailored to individual client needs. We focus on building high-quality, scalable solutions that are robust, accessible, and easy to manage.

The role

We are looking for a Web Developer with strong WordPress experience to join our team. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of website development, from initial build through to ongoing support and enhancements. This is a varied role where no two projects are the same, offering the opportunity to work on both complex enterprise-level builds and smaller creative projects.

You will work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver well-structured, performant websites that meet client requirements and technical standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain custom WordPress websites
  • Develop bespoke themes and, where required, plugins
  • Produce responsive, accessible, and performance-optimised front-end experiences
  • Support multilingual and multi-site WordPress implementations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across live and in-development sites
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver projects on time and to specification
  • Follow best practices for SEO, performance, and security

Required skills and experience

  • Strong commercial experience with WordPress development
  • Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience building or modifying custom WordPress themes
  • Good understanding of responsive design principles
  • Experience working with third-party integrations or APIs
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Desirable skills

  • Experience with large-scale or enterprise WordPress builds
  • Knowledge of multilingual WordPress configurations
  • Familiarity with modern front-end tooling or frameworks
  • Experience using Git for version control
  • Understanding of hosting environments and deployment workflows

Benefits

  • £35,000 pro rata salary (full-time role)
  • Hybrid working model
  • 25 days holiday (pro rata)
  • Free parking

What we offer

  • A wide variety of interesting and technically challenging projects
  • The opportunity to work on high-traffic, international websites
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment
  • Opportunities for ongoing learning and professional development

Pay: £35,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Free parking
  • On-site parking
  • Work from home

Work Location: In person
