Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Consultant Haematologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering expert haematology services, contributing to patient care excellence, and supporting clinical research initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative environment focused on innovative treatment approaches and comprehensive patient management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert haematology consultation and diagnosis for patients with blood disorders, including leukemia, lymphoma, anemia, and clotting disorders.
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Oversee clinical procedures such as bone marrow biopsies, blood transfusions, and medication administration related to haematology conditions.
  • Engage in clinical research activities to advance knowledge in haematology and improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other specialties such as oncology, radiology, and pathology to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Supervise junior medical staff and provide mentorship to foster professional development.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and clinical outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to departmental quality assurance programs and participate in audits to uphold high standards of care.

Essential Requirements

  • Only NHS experience is considered for this role.
  • Minimum 3 years of NHS references through 3 different consultants you have worked with.
  • Must be on the Haematology Register (essential).
  • Should be flexible with long term requirement until Feb 2027.
  • Right to work in the UK.
