We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Dispenser to join our friendly dispensing team at the Eynsham Medical Group and Hanborough Pharmacy.

This role combines pharmacy dispensing duties with dispensing doctors’ duties. We are one of a few hybrid pharmacies and we proudly promote the safe and efficient supply of medicines as well as delivering excellent patient service.

Job Purpose

To accurately dispense prescriptions and support the safe supply of medicines to patients within a community pharmacy or dispensing doctors practice, ensuring high standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality under the supervision of a pharmacist or dispensing clinician.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense NHS and private prescriptions accurately
• Process prescriptions (EPS and paper), including repeat prescriptions
• Carry out prescription clerk duties: receiving, generating, endorsing, and processing prescriptions
• Liaise with prescribers to resolve prescription queries
• Prioritise workload, including urgent and acute prescriptions
• Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality
• Support stock control, ordering, and expiry checks
• Assist with controlled drugs procedures
• Provide professional and friendly service to patients

About You

Essential:

• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a busy healthcare environment
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Previous experience in a community pharmacy or dispensing practice or willingness to train

Desirable:

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Pharmacy Services / Dispensing
• Experience in community pharmacy or dispensing practice
• Familiarity with EPS and GP clinical systems (e.g. EMIS, Analyst)

Pay: £24,785.00-£26,325.00 per year
