Overview
Silver Saints is a professional handyman service that has been looking after property repairs across London since 2008. We are taking on experienced multi-trade handymen to cover West and North West London.
What you need
- At least five years working on your own tools as a multi-trade handyman, general builder or maintenance engineer.
- Practical competence across plumbing, electrics, carpentry and decorating in occupied domestic and commercial properties.
- Your own hand tools and power tools.
- Your own transport. A motorcycle or scooter suits this patch best because of parking and traffic, though we will consider experienced car and van drivers who know London very well.
- You currently live in London, ideally in or near the W, NW, HA, or TW postcodes
- Registered self-employed with HMRC, with a UTR number, or ready to register before you start
- The right to work in the UK
- Good spoken English and a professional, courteous manner in customers' homes
- A smartphone
What the work involves
- A daily run of repair, installation and maintenance jobs across West and North West London, mostly private homes, offices and managed flats
- Typical work includes leaks and tap changes, toilet and shower repairs, light fittings, sockets and switches, extractor fans, door and lock work, sash windows, shelving, tiling, sealing and small decorating jobs
- Diagnosing the fault properly and completing the job in one visit wherever possible
- Sourcing materials locally when a job calls for it
- Keeping the job app updated as you work so the office can manage the customer
- Providing quotes and generating return visits via our mobile app.
What you get
- Typical invoicing of £800 to £1,300 a week for a full working week
- We find the customers and book the work. You are not paying for leads, running ads or answering the phone in the evenings

- A job management app with the address, the job detail and the customer history before you arrive

This is a self-employed subcontract arrangement. You use your own tools and transport, you run your own tax affairs, and you decide which work you take on. If you want the security of a steady flow of good jobs without the administration that comes with working alone.
