Experienced Housekeeper & Handyman
Full-Time -Hertfordshire (Near Hemel Hempstead) | Combined Salary: £80,000 + Accommodation

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated housekeeper and Handyman to join a welcoming family in their beautiful contemporary home in Hertfordshire, close to Hemel Hempstead. The property offers easy access to London and is conveniently located near the M25.

This is a substantial six-bedroom family residence, although it is typically occupied by just two principals. Their adult children visit from time to time, so the home should always be maintained to an exceptional, guest-ready standard.

Housekeeper

The successful housekeeper will take full responsibility for the day-to-day care and presentation of the home, ensuring it is maintained to the highest standards at all times. Duties will include:

  • Full housekeeping to an exceptional standard
  • Laundry and ironing
  • Maintaining immaculate presentation throughout the property
  • Proactive attention to detail, ensuring the home is always guest-ready
  • Looking after the 2 family dogs when required, so must be genuine animal lovers

Please note that no cooking is required.

Handyman

The handyman will be responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the main residence, together with supporting the owners' additional properties. Responsibilities will include:

  • General DIY, repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Liaising with and assisting external contractors where required
  • Supporting the gardener with outdoor tasks
  • Assisting with the upkeep of the swimming pool (a professional pool company is retained)
  • Looking after family dogs when the family are away

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working together within a private household is highly desirable.
  • One of the applicants must hold a full driving licence and be confident driving manual vehicles.
  • A genuine love of dogs is essential, as the family have two much-loved dogs, who the couple will look after at times.
  • The family have miniature shetland ponies who will require tending from time to time.
  • Both applicants must be non-smokers and non vapers.
  • Excellent attention to detail, discretion, reliability and a positive, flexible approach are essential.
  • Positive, proactive, and hands-on attitude.
  • Physically fit and capable of undertaking practical tasks.

Accommodation & Package

Newly refurbished self contained accommodation is provided, with utility bills included.

Please note that, unfortunately, the accommodation is not suitable for children or pets.

Salary:* Combined salary of £*80,000, depending on experience.

Hours : 08.30 - 17.30 - Monday to Friday will be the normal working days, however when the principals are away weekends will be required
