Facilities Officer / Multi-Skilled Handyperson

Location: Multiple sites across West and South East London

We're looking for a reliable, practical and motivated Facilities Officer / Multi-Skilled Handyperson to join our growing facilities team.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll be carrying out reactive and planned maintenance across a portfolio of commercial properties, helping to keep our buildings safe, compliant and operating efficiently.

The Role

Typical duties include:

  • General building maintenance and repairs.
  • Basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating and building fabric repairs.
  • Minor electrical works (where competent).
  • Installing fixtures, fittings and signage.
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
  • Reactive maintenance and fault finding.
  • Supporting small refurbishment and improvement projects.
  • Working professionally with depot teams, contractors and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance, property maintenance or a multi-skilled handyman role.
  • Good all-round practical skills across a range of building trades.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workload.
  • Flexible and willing to travel between multiple sites across West and South East London.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.

Own tools and equipment are an advantage.

A company vehicle may be provided for the successful employed candidate, depending on experience and operational requirements.

Working Hours

The role is primarily Monday to Friday, although flexibility is essential.

There will be an occasional requirement for weekend working and participation in an on-call rota to respond to urgent maintenance issues outside normal working hours.

Applying

Please ensure your application clearly lists all of your practical skills, qualifications, licences and trade experience.

The more information you provide about your experience, the easier it is for us to assess your suitability for this multi-skilled position.

Self-Employed Opportunities Also Available

We are also recruiting self-employed multi-skilled maintenance operatives.

If you already have your own vehicle, tools and equipment and would prefer to work on a self-employed basis, we'd also like to hear from you.

Self-employed operatives will undertake maintenance and repair work across the same portfolio of sites and should be reliable, well-presented and capable of working independently to a high standard.

Please state clearly within your application whether you are applying for the employed position or the self-employed contractor opportunity.
