We are looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Operative to join our team, carrying out general maintenance and repairs across our bakery and retail sites.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out regular inspections of retail and bakery sites and identify maintenance and repair requirements.
• Complete general handyman and maintenance tasks as required.
• Basic joinery work, including repairing or replacing doors, handles, locks and other fittings.
• Basic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
• Basic roofing and associated maintenance work.
• Replace lightbulbs, fittings and fixtures where required.
• Painting, decorating and silicone sealing in areas such as kitchens and toilets.
• Carry out general repairs and resolve minor maintenance issues promptly.
• Keep accurate records of work completed and report any issues to management.
• Follow company maintenance procedures and health and safety requirements.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a skilled Labourer/Handyman, preferably in a similar maintenance role.
• Proficient in a variety of maintenance tasks, including door replacement, light fixture installation, silicone sealing, and general repairs.
• Previous experience in handyman/skilled labouring work and maintenance is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately identify maintenance needs.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective time management and organisational abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Wages will be dependent on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £8.87-£12.71 per hour
