Cabin Installation & Maintenance Technician

Shacks | Cheshire Based | £28,000–£30,000 per annum

About Shacks

Shacks is a fast-growing business designing, manufacturing and operating off-grid cabins in some of the UK's most beautiful locations. As we continue to expand our network of cabins across the country, we're looking for a practical, hardworking individual to join our installation and maintenance team.

The Role

We're looking for someone with general building experience who enjoys hands-on work and is happy spending a significant amount of time travelling around the UK.

The role will involve installing new cabins at locations across the country, carrying out maintenance on our existing cabins and helping ensure everything is finished to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to locations across the UK to install and commission new cabins.
  • Carry out general building, carpentry and finishing work during installations.
  • Install decking, cladding and other external features.
  • Undertake repairs, maintenance and general upkeep of our existing cabin portfolio.
  • Diagnose and resolve practical issues on site.
  • Work closely with our workshop and operations teams to ensure cabins are ready for guests.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in general building, construction or property maintenance.
  • Good practical skills and confidence using tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems on site.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck into a variety of tasks.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively across the UK, including regular overnight stays away from home.

Experience in carpentry, plumbing or off-grid systems would be beneficial but is not essential.

What We Offer

  • Salary: £28,000–£30,000 depending on experience.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Varied work in some fantastic rural locations across the UK.
  • Opportunity to join a growing business with ambitious expansion plans.
  • A friendly, practical team and the opportunity to develop your skills.

Apply

If you're practical, reliable and enjoy working outdoors and travelling, we'd love to hear from you.
