Job Overview

Silver Saints has been looking after London property repairs since 2008. We are taking on experienced multi-trade handymen to cover West and North West London.

You won’t buy leads, run ads, take evening phone calls, do invoicing or chase payment. We find the customers, book the work and build your day around where you are.

The money

  • Typical invoicing of £750 to £1,300 for a full working week, paid weekly through our online subcontractor invoicing system
  • Higher for Gas Safe engineers and qualified electricians

The work

A daily run of repair, installation and maintenance jobs across private homes, offices and managed flats in West and North West London. Typical jobs include:

  • Leaks, tap changes, toilet and shower repairs, saniflos
  • Light fittings, sockets, switches and extractor fans
  • Doors, locks and sash windows
  • Shelving, tiling, sealing and small decorating jobs

We expect you to diagnose the fault properly and finish the job in one visit wherever possible. That means sourcing materials locally when needed, keeping the job app updated as you go, and raising quotes and return visits through the app.

What you need

  • At least three years on your own tools as a multi-trade handyman, general builder or maintenance engineer, working in occupied properties
  • Practical competence across plumbing, electrics, carpentry and decorating
  • Your own hand tools and power tools
  • Your own transport. A motorcycle or scooter is strongly preferred for this patch because of traffic and parking. We will consider experienced car or van drivers who know London very well
  • Living in London, ideally in or near the W, NW, HA or TW postcodes
  • Self-employed with a UTR, or ready to register before you start
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Good spoken English and a courteous, professional manner in customers’ homes
  • A smartphone

The arrangement

This is a self-employed subcontract role. You use your own tools and transport, run your own tax affairs, and decide which work you take on. If you want a steady flow of good jobs without the admin of working alone, we’d like to hear from you.
