Join our dynamic team at Great Central Plastics Ltd. We are a leading sustainable manufacturer, specialising in Sustainable Plastic Injection Moulding. We are situated close to Daventry, in a village called Woodford Halse, which provides all the necessary amenities. We are currently looking for an additional team member to make a tangible difference every day through hands-on work and attention to detail. We work closely with brands such as Jägermeister, Campari, collectable grading slabs and numerous prestigious automotive brands.

Duties

• Perform comprehensive commercial cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitising all areas to uphold cleanliness standards.
• Carry out general day-to-day maintenance around the factory, offices and external areas.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, damage or hazards to Management.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance where competent to do so.
• Replace light bulbs and batteries where required.
• Put up shelves, pictures, hooks and other fixtures.
• Assemble furniture, storage units and other equipment when required.
• Carry out basic painting, decorating and touch-up work.
• Keep tools and maintenance equipment clean, organised and safely stored.
• Maintain a record of maintenance issues and completed jobs.
• Check doors, gates, windows, locks and other fixtures are in good working order.
• Report damage to floors, walls, ceilings, doors or other building fabric.
• Ensure rubbish and waste is stored correctly and collection areas are kept tidy.
• Report any leaks, spills, damage or other issues immediately.
• Check staff toilets & kitchens regularly.
• Replace consumables such as toilet rolls, paper towels, soap and other basic supplies when required.
• Report or deal with minor plumbing issues (if capable).
• Sweep, mop and clean designated areas.
• Remove cobwebs and general dirt from appropriate areas.
• Empty or assist with emptying general waste bins.
• Keep the backyard, yard and surrounding areas clean, tidy and free from rubbish.
• Sweep external areas and remove leaves, dirt and debris.
• Carry out basic gardening and grounds maintenance.
• Mow grass and maintain planted areas where required.
• Trim shrubs and hedges where appropriate.
• Remove weeds and maintain general appearance of the grounds.
• Keep external walkways and access routes clear.
• Ensure outside bins and waste areas are kept organised.
• Carry out seasonal tasks such as clearing leaves, preparing for winter and dealing with ice where appropriate.
• Report any unsafe conditions immediately.
• Assist with preparing the site for Health & Safety inspections and audits.
• Report damaged or leaking bins/containers.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial cleaning with a strong understanding of janitorial procedures.
• Ability to operate basic maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive attitude toward identifying potential issues before they escalate.
• Strong organisational skills for managing supplies, schedules, and documentation efficiently.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting maintenance concerns clearly.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning and maintenance work.
• Physical stamina to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
