Full job description

Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Maintenance / Property Assistant to help maintain and refresh our property, Marygate by Deuce in Wakefield. This is a part-time role of 16 hours per week, with a degree of flexibility regarding working days and hours, making it ideal for someone looking for a flexible schedule.

This role would suit someone local to the area, as all work will be based at the Marygate property and there is no requirement to travel to our other hotel locations.

The property has 26 rooms, with 12 currently occupied by long-term tenants, so we are looking for someone who is respectful, professional and able to work around occupied rooms where needed.

Responsibilities

  • Painting and minor decorating works
  • Basic electrical, plumbing and joinery repairs
  • General hotel bedroom and bathroom repairs
  • Preventative maintenance work
  • Assisting the Hotel Operations team with day-to-day tasks such as deliveries
  • Freshening up rooms and communal areas
  • General upkeep and presentation of the property

Skills

We are looking for someone capable of working independently as well as part of a small team. Applicants must have a can-do attitude, an eye for detail to identify tasks required, and a willingness to problem solve.

Previous experience across a range of maintenance skills is desirable and, most importantly, applicants should have high personal standards in terms of the quality of any task undertaken.

Any potential applicants must be physically fit and able to easily climb stairs, as there is no lift at the property.
