Handyperson / Property Maintenance Operative – Commercial Lettings

Overview

We’re looking for a practical, reliable and versatile maintenance person to help keep our commercial lettings portfolio in good condition.

This is a varied, hands-on role covering day-to-day repairs, planned maintenance and refurbishment work. You could be fixing a leaking tap one day, repairing fencing or decorating the next, then helping prepare a commercial unit for a new tenant.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance across our commercial properties.
  • Undertake minor plumbing repairs, including leaking taps and fittings.
  • Complete painting, decorating and making-good work.
  • Repair and install fencing, gates, fixtures and fittings.
  • Lay flooring and carry out basic carpentry.
  • Assist with refurbishment projects, including removing non-structural partitions where authorised.
  • Identify maintenance issues and report any work requiring a specialist contractor.
  • Work considerately around tenants, keeping work areas safe, tidy and organised.
  • Work independently and alongside other team members to complete jobs to a good standard.

What we’re looking for

  • Practical experience in property maintenance, general building work or a similar role.
  • A broad range of maintenance skills and a willingness to tackle varied tasks.
  • Your own transport and basic tools.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication, a reliable approach and pride in your work.
  • An understanding of safe working practices and when specialist help is needed.

Pay: £110.00-£130.00 per day
