MULTI-SKILLED MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE / HANDYMAN

Location: East London & Essex

Employment: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £35,000–£38,000 per annum (depending on experience)

We are an established residential property group seeking an experienced, reliable and highly competent Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative to maintain our residential apartment blocks and rental properties.

This is a long-term, permanent position for someone who takes pride in their work, uses common sense and can independently identify and resolve maintenance issues.

Key Responsibilities

⁠ ⁠General repairs and maintenance across residential properties and communal areas.

⁠ ⁠Basic plumbing repairs, including leaks, taps, toilets and fittings.

⁠ ⁠Basic electrical maintenance, limited to work within the applicant's competence and qualifications.

⁠ ⁠Carpentry, doors, locks, hinges and general joinery repairs.

⁠ ⁠Painting, decorating, tiling and general property upkeep.

⁠ ⁠Routine inspections of residential blocks and communal areas.

⁠ ⁠Identifying preventative maintenance requirements.

⁠ ⁠Responding promptly to maintenance requests.

⁠ ⁠Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and presentation.

Essential Requirements

⁠ ⁠Minimum 7 years' hands-on property maintenance experience.

⁠ ⁠Proven experience across plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical maintenance and general repairs.

⁠ ⁠Previous experience maintaining residential blocks or rental properties preferred.

⁠ ⁠Full, clean UK driving licence.

⁠ ⁠Ability to work independently without supervision or training.

⁠ ⁠Excellent problem-solving skills and practical common sense.

⁠ ⁠Reliable, punctual, organised and professional.

⁠ ⁠Ability to identify problems and complete repairs efficiently.

⁠ ⁠Good communication skills and a responsible attitude.
