Full job description

Soughton Hall is a stunning historic venue renowned for exceptional weddings, events, and guest experiences. We are looking for a skilled, reliable Maintenance Person to join our team and help us keep our property safe, functional, and looking its best.

Key Responsibilities

  • Routine Upkeep: Carry out regular maintenance and repairs across guest accommodations, public spaces, and event venues.
  • Problem Solving: Respond quickly to maintenance issues to keep disruptions to a minimum.
  • Core Trades: Handle painting and decorating, basic electrical tasks (like changing switches and light fittings), minor joinery, and resealing wet areas.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work meets health and safety regulations.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other departments and assist external contractors when needed.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience in property maintenance or a similar handyman role.
  • Good all-round practical skills (painting, decorating, carpentry, and basic electrics).
  • A proactive, independent worker with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • A professional, courteous attitude suitable for a guest-facing environment.
