Fix Now Kent Ltd is looking for an experienced, reliable and self-motivated Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative / Multi-Trader to join our growing property maintenance team.

The role will involve carrying out reactive and planned maintenance works on residential properties managed by local estate agents, letting agents and property management companies.

The majority of work will be based in Ramsgate, Margate, Broadstairs and the surrounding Thanet area, with occasional jobs elsewhere in Kent.

We are looking for someone who is confident working independently, can manage multiple jobs at different properties throughout the week and takes pride in delivering a professional standard of workmanship.

Applicants must have their own van and tools, as the role involves travelling between different properties and carrying materials and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

The role will involve a wide variety of general property maintenance and repair tasks, including:

• General carpentry repairs, including doors, locks, handles, skirting and timber repairs
• Painting, decorating and making good
• Wall and floor tile repairs and replacement
• Silicone sealing, mastic work and general waterproofing repairs
• Basic plumbing repairs, including taps, toilets, wastes and minor leaks
• Kitchen and bathroom maintenance
• Flooring repairs and small installations
• Plaster patching, filling and minor wall repairs
• General handyman work and property repairs
• Minor external maintenance, including fencing and guttering repairs where appropriate
• Identifying and reporting additional maintenance issues

The successful applicant will be expected to attend multiple properties throughout the working week, assess issues, carry out repairs and provide clear updates on completed works.

You do not need to cover every trade, but a good range of practical maintenance skills is essential.

Requirements

• Proven experience in property maintenance, general repairs or multi-trade work
• Confident working alone without constant supervision
• Own van and full UK driving licence – essential
• Own tools and equipment
• Good knowledge of general property repairs
• Ability to diagnose problems and find practical solutions
• Reliable, punctual and well organised
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude when dealing with tenants, landlords and managing agents
• Ability to take before-and-after photographs and provide updates on completed jobs
• Good attention to detail and a tidy approach to working in occupied properties

Experience working for estate agents, letting agents, housing associations or property maintenance companies would be particularly beneficial.
